Plastics for Medical Devices Seminar
In the seminar will be presentations on the latest materials technology, regulations and advances in polymer processing for the medical devices industry.
The battle to reduce or eliminate Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) requires new cleaning and disinfecting procedures with frequently more aggresive chemical solutions. These products challenge the materials for construction, specially for long term use products such as those used at the operating room (OR). The growth of home healthcare further challenges devices companies and all the associated support industries to come up with products that can be safely used.
There will be duscussion about the progress being made by high performance polymers, suitable for both implantable devices but also for durable applications such as pump housings, instruments and diagnostics.
In meeting the needs of device manufactures, it will be presented the advances of new fabrication technologies, which promote the osteoconductive properties of implantable devices. Regulatory and Supply chain singularities of the medical devices market will also be discussed. At the end of the journey, participants are invited to attend a networking dinner, featured by José María Lagaron as speaker.
